"A gripping story with real consequences and the lucid immediacy of a dream, all wound around the things we're willing to risk to satisfy our need for connection. It sneaks under your skin and knocks you sideways with its specificity and emotional depth." - LUCY BELLWOODauthor of Baggywrinkles, True Believer, and Cartozia Tales
“The human stories of desperation, of reaching out, and of discovering new worlds really shine here both in characterizations and in sharp linework and careful compositions that elegantly highlight meaningful moments. Indeed, volume one ends on a perfectly satisfying note of coming together, even as it promises the story is only beginning.”

"When you’re a carpenter making a beautiful chest of drawers, you’re not going to use a piece of plywood on the back, even though it faces the wall and nobody will see it. You’ll know it’s there, so you’re going to use a beautiful piece of wood on the back. For you to sleep well at night, the quality has to be carried all the way through.

Senior PPC Strategist • Reported directly to Jesse
The dedication, intelligence, and humor with which Jesse performs his job makes working with him a privilege. His meticulous eye for detail makes the people he works with look more professional than his modesty would allow him to admit. I would jump at the opportunity to work with, for, or near Jesse in the future.

"Technology is nothing. What’s important is that you have a faith in people, that they’re basically good and smart, and if you give them tools, they’ll do wonderful things with them."

Instructional Design Manager • Worked on the same team
I met Jesse under interesting circumstances. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing him since 2015 when Simply Mac acquired his employer. He handled the transition with grace, positivity, and really helped integrate the two new teams. During our time as Trainers he was an excellent collaborator and someone I could count on for a sanity check . I was always impressed with his thoughtful and thorough execution of projects. More than that, Jesse is the kind of guy you grab dinner with even after you no longer work together.

Senior macOS Systems & Platform Engineer • Worked under Jesse's leadership
In his time as Regional Service Manager I had the pleasure of working with Jesse not only as someone who reported directly to him as one of his Service Managers but also indirectly during my time as his "partner in crime", a.k.a Regional Service Trainer. He is a true professional with an extremely admirable work ethic. He always worked incredibly hard to drive results, had strong and impactful relationships with his employees and co-workers, and without fail was just a phone call or text away for assistance and/or advice. Jesse's attitude and personality is what makes him great; everyone who worked with him can attest to what an amazing leader he is. His problem-solving abilities and leadership attributes are truly second to none and I would highly recommend Jesse for any opportunity that comes his way.If you want an incredibly hard working, intelligent, and results-driven employee--trust me, look no further. You have found your guy!

Jesse is a people person, with an eye for getting into the details of protocol and policy-making. He re-thought services and implemented a simplified and successful plan for Help Desk. It was easier to understand, more popular, and brought in more money. He cleaned up the messes of his predecessor when he became Director of his department. It was a like a breath a fresh air came through for the help desk and repair staff. Employees that are spoken with and feel listened to are happier, and Jesse gets that.

I have enjoyed working alongside Jesse Holden for close to 5 years. Over this time, I saw Jesse grow in our company as a leader with increasing responsibility. Jesse has keen technical skills and is detail-oriented. Jesse is constantly pleasant and takes on all assignments with enthusiasm and dedication. Jesse's management style reminded me of what Grace Hooper said about management: "You manage things, you lead people." Jesse leads by example and never puts himself above the high standards he expects people to operate at. Regardless of deadlines or other pressure Jesse always delivers. His strong organizational skills lend to his strong multitasking skills. While I sure miss seeing him around the office, he has earned my highest recommendation.

With dozens of industry certifications, decades of leadership experience, and a battle-proven track record that blossoms from a focus on creativity, care, and bulldog-level follow-through, I’ve come into a career full of dramatic wins and transformative, adaptable solutions. It comes down to the point of connection between humans and technology, building a real culture of mutual support, and always, always sweating the details, and it’s been a privilege to make a living at it.
I was one of those kids that had to know how everything worked. The first computer I took apart was my family's Macintosh 128k at age 10. It's a good story, ask me about it!Jesse Holden on LinkedIn
